Is there a restaurant in the house?

Breakfast is included with every overnight stay.

For dinner, you can order our Z Nacht-Chischtli (Bernese German for «dinner box») – a freshly prepared meal served in Weck jars and presented in a wooden box.

Choose from various hot dishes, soups, salads, and desserts, and place your order online or with the breakfast staff by 10:00 a.m. for the same day.

For Groups we also offer lunch and dinner options.

Additionally, there are several restaurants in the surrounding area.

Good to know: Drinks & snacks are available all day for self-service.

Can I cook for myself?

No – here you also enjoy a break from cooking and doing the dishes. We take care of that for you.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Credit card or PayPal.

For group bookings, bank transfer is also possible.

For snacks and drinks at the kiosk, you can pay with Twint or cash (CHF).

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 4:00 p.m., check-out until 11:00 a.m. 

An earlier check-in is possible if the room is ready, but this can only be confirmed on the day of arrival.

You are welcome to store your luggage in the storage room at any time and already enjoy the terrace or lounge areas.

How do I reach the Auszeit-Hotel Z Aeschiried by car?

From the Spiez motorway exit, follow the signs toward Aeschi / Aeschiried.

In Aeschi, drive straight through the roundabout and continue uphill to Aeschiried.

After about 5 minutes you’ll see the Restaurant Chemihütte on the left, and shortly after that the Aeschiried school building, also on the left.

A large parking area is located to the right. Turn slightly left off the main road into Allmigässli.

The road climbs steeply for around 800 m (up to 17% incline), but it is paved and easy to drive.

Follow the road past all houses until a sharp left turn.

Continue straight ahead (do not turn right!) – shortly after, you will see the Auszeit-Hotel Z Aeschiried in front of you.

How do I get there by public transport?

Take the train to Spiez and then the PostBus No. 61 to “Aeschiried, Schulhaus”.

The ride takes about 20 minutes. From the bus stop, a 15-minute uphill walk leads to the hotel – a “small walk with fresh mountain air,” sporty or meditative depending on your luggage.

Good to know:

The last bus leaves Spiez at 19:36.

🚕 If you arrive later or have heavy luggage, a taxi is recommended (approx. CHF 40–50).

Is parking available?

Yes – behind the house, free parking spaces are available for hotel guests.

You are welcome to stop briefly at the entrance to unload your luggage.

Please move your car right afterward – the next guests and delivery drivers will appreciate it.

As a small team, we do not staff a permanent reception. We multitask and are sometimes working in the background – but feel free to call or email us. We look forward to hearing from you!

How does the self-check-in work?

1. Open the main entrance – using the code we send you by email 7 days before arrival.
2. Find your key:
   • 🔑 Rooms 30–45: Key boxes are opposite the entrance, to the left of the info wall. Enter your individual room code and open the box from top to bottom.
   • 🔑 Rooms 1–14: The key rack is to the right of the info wall.
3. Go to your room, following the arrows in the house. Unlock, unload, take off your shoes, arrive.

What if I arrive late or need help?

We are reachable by phone daily until 6:00 p.m.

If you are unsure about the self-check-in or not certain you have received all information, please contact us before your arrival. 

To respect the night’s rest of other guests, please walk quietly in the hallways when arriving in the evening.

If possible, please plan to arrive by 10:00 p.m.

Your neighbours – and your own rest – will thank you.

What are the cancellation conditions?

Cancellation conditions depend on the booking platform and the selected rate. They are displayed during the booking process or in your guest account.

When is breakfast?

Daily from 8:00–10:00 a.m.

Enjoy a selection of homemade and regional products.

What is the Z Nacht-Chischtli (bernese german for «dinner box») ?

A pre-ordered dinner served in a wooden box (Chischtli).

Choose from various hot dishes, soups, salads, and desserts, and place your order via the website or with the breakfast staff by 10:00 a.m. for the same day.

The Z Nacht Chischtli is ready for you at 6:30 p.m. in the Z Reschti (bernese german for rerestaurant), where you can enjoy it in a cosy atmosphere.

The dishes are served in Weck jars and stay warm until around 7:00 p.m.

Simply come and enjoy.

Is a mid-stay cleaning available?

By default, we only clean after your stay – and you benefit from a reduced price starting from your second night.

A mid-stay cleaning can be added for CHF 19.– if desired.

For stays of 4 nights or longer, we automatically change your towels halfway through your stay.

Less cleaning. Less disturbance. Less to pay.
